- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 onion
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup red table wine
- 1 No. 2-1/2 can minced tomatoes (about 3-1/2 cups)
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh basil
Fry garlic and onion in oil until golden
Add celery and meat and cook, stirring often, until meat is brown.
Add remaining ingredients, cover, and simmer slowly for 2 hours.
Pour hot over cooked ravioli or spaghetti.
