Another planning-and-preparation week. I’ve almost got my homeschool lesson plans for the year locked down! Here is the meal plan for your Mid-Century Menu Monday for August 17th to 23rd.

Mid-Century Menu Monday for August 17th to 23rd

Monday’s Meal Plan

Breakfast

  • Sliced peaches
  • Prepared cereal with top milk
  • Toast with butter
  • Broiled bacon
  • Coffee for adults, milk for children

Lunch

  • Cream of spinach soup
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Apple crumble
  • Hot or iced tea, milk for children

Dinner

  • Devilled kidneys
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Buttered peas
  • Whole wheat bread and butter
  • Watermelon pickles
  • Fresh prunes
  • Coffee for adults, milk for children

Tuesday’s Meal Plan

Breakfast

  • Melon wedges
  • Prepared cereal with top milk
  • Soft-cooked eggs
  • Toast with butter, jam
  • Coffee for adults, milk for children

Lunch

  • Stuffed tomato salad
  • Cinnamon toast
  • Lime fluff (Save yolks for Thursday)
  • Vanilla crips (Save ⅔ for Wednesday and Saturday)
  • Iced tea for adults, milk for children

Dinner

  • Pork sausage patties
  • Milk gravy
  • Boiled potatoes
  • Broiled tomatoes
  • Lettuce wedges, French dressing
  • Bread and butter
  • Chocolate blancmange
  • Coffee for adults, milk for children

Wednesday’s Meal Plan

Breakfast

  • Grapefruit juice
  • Prepared cereal with top milk
  • Toast with butter, jam
  • Pan-broiled bacon
  • Coffee for adults, milk for children

Lunch

  • Cucumber, onion, pickle sandwiches
  • Buttered beets
  • Butterscotch custard
  • Iced tea for adults, milk for children

Dinner

  • Hamburger patties
  • Creamed potatoes
  • Fried eggplant
  • Whole wheat bread and butter
  • Sliced cantaloupe
  • Vanilla crisps

Thursday’s Meal Plan

  • Scrambled eggs (use the yolks left from Tuesday)

Lunch

  • Toasted cheese sandwiches

Dinner

  • Jellied veal loaf (Save ⅓ for Saturday’s lunch)

Friday’s Meal Plan

  • Orange pinwheel biscuits with butter

Saturday’s Meal Plan

  • Baked apples
  • Coffee for adults, milk for children
